Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park (HSIP) has been established 25 years since 1980. Because of HSIP’s fast development, it makes massive impacts on socioeconomic spaces and population structure in Hsinchu area. Based on the in-depth analysis of four-periodic Aerial Survey Maps, this study will examine how Hsinchu area has shifted its constitution in two directions - time and space; as a result, the access to transportation has visibly influenced the extension of Hsinchu precincts. The research methods are based on literature study and data analysis of descriptive statistics and empirical research. Accordingly, we will analyze the relationship between housing and transportation which has been noticeable in spatial forms. Therefore, it may clarify the causes/effects on the spatial distribution in Hsinchu and the industrial evolution. Above-mentioned factors maybe apply effectively when government sets up Science Park and contribute to local development as well. |
