In this study, both the finite element method and the skill of optimizationanalysis are used to explore the design of a lightweight electricvehicle car-body structure and its static stiffness. The static behavior ofthe car-body structure is investigated using a three-dimensional finiteelement model. The feasibility of the proposed finite element model wasconfirmed by comparing the numerical solutions with the results obtainedfrom the experimental modal analysis (EMA). The results indicate thatthe redesigned vehicle structure has a 19% reduction in weight with thesame material and static stiffness as the original vehicle. |
