In order to promote the employment of our country's college students, the incorporation of internship program allows the students to accumulate work experiences, hence improve employability. Museum is one of the continuing education institutions, responsible for cultivating talented people, which the majority accepts students as interns. The method of research is qualitative study. By conducting interviews with 4 college students, who had interned at National Science and Technology Museum for 6 months, and have started to work after graduation, to understand whether the experience of internship is beneficial to employability upon graduation. Through observations, interviews and data analysis, the results show the abilities of the interns can be highly valued by the employers, hence increase the employment opportunities. The study of employability comes from an integrated internship program, from a complete internship system to the design of enterprise internship, which proposed 5 essential points: 1) The compatibility between interns' expertise and internship institutions' values maximizes the internship experience and application of interns' abilities; 2) The internship works in the form of a team enhances the interns' ability to learn in many ways; 3) Internship counseling is one of the key points in the effectiveness of internship; 4) A great variety of internship activities and environment can increase the chance of developing different opportunities; 5) In order to suit the needs of the interns, the mentor should adjust the internship plan accordingly based on the observations. Based on the results shown above, the conclusions of the research aim to serve as a reference for the internship institutions, schools, and interns in the future. |
