The innovation concept of executing water saving resource training is through by living technology on the cooperation of science museum and government institution for the theme of “water-saving”. This study took the visitors who joined the water-saving activities of 2014, conducted by the National Science and Technology Museum as the research subjects. Questionnaires responded before and after the activities by visitors to understand their changes of water-saving concepts. Furthermore, interviews were applied to find the influenced factor and testify the data collected from surveys; meanwhile, to understand the visitors' intention of practicing water-saving behavior. Analyzing both the quantitative and qualitative data result in the findings as follow: 1. Visitors displayed higher improvement on water-saving technology concepts which the “basic” and “saving” were better comprehend than “re-use”, after participating in the activities. 2. Visitors were like to practice water-saving acts in their daily lives, such as equipping water-saving tools were the most, after participating in the activities. 3. Connecting Water-saving technology concepts with concrete objects or life experiences were easier for visitors to elicit learning interests. This study has limit time and research subjects. Furthermore, a study finding showed that visitors presented less comprehension and lower acting-motivation of the concept “re-use”. Further research about understanding and life application of “re-use” were suggested to continue. Added to this, tracing the differences between visitors' water-saving behavior before and after activities was also a helpful review. |
