Science communication is one of the critical tasks of all modern science museums, whereas exhibition is the major vehicle to perform this task. The communication of science can be regarded as science education to the general public. It leads to a favorable outlook on science and rational thinking. Henceforth, science communication should fulfill functions such as: the dissemination of scientific knowledge, the acquiring of scientific methods, the building of a scientific attitude, and the cultivation of a scientific spirit. It facilitates the public with the abilities of comprehension and analyzes when encountering scientific information. Ultimately, science communication should enhance the maturity of the general public in the realm of science. The subjects in this study were the loyal participants in the Disease Prevention Combat Camp at NSTM, aka “Golden Warriors”. Through questionnaires, interviews and observations, this study analyzed the visitors' experiences and the influence of the “Golden Warriors”. The objectives were to understand the practical application of science communication at Disease Prevention Combat Camp. |
