從鑄字機到鍵盤：印刷數位化中技術價值的體現

From Typecasting Machine to Keyboard: Reflection of Technological Value in Printing Digitization

印刷術從鑄造活字到電腦造字的技術變革走來，印刷的面貌大不同前，模糊了人與技術間的關係。本文就一段台灣活版印刷發展史，從印刷數位化的角度切入，重新檢視技術價值與人的關係，當新技術取代舊技術的發展過程中，人的價值隱然浮現。首先以台灣印刷產業技術之演進過程為分析背景，之後分別就技術發展的外在因素與內在形塑的角度，探討技術生命的核心價值。最後發現印刷數位化後，人與技術的協調過程中，其核心價值表現在幾方面：一、造字技術發展因應外在因素轉變迅速，具強烈社會價值意識；二、高科技「壟斷」取代人的技術「壟斷」；三、技術轉移突破師徒相傳制技藝的封閉性與緩慢性；四、從黑手技術跨越高科技生產的鴻溝後，人依然是技術價值的核心，開發人的價值才能凸顯技術的價值；五、技術發展階段中，舊技術不斷尋求轉型出口，展現技術生命的堅韌力。

Since the evolution of printing technology, evolving from typecasting to words made by computers, the printing industry has significantly changed, and has made the relation between human and technology more obscure. In this paper, the relation between people and the value of technology is inspected, starting from the view-point of the printing digitization. During the process of new technology replacing the old, the value of people slow appears. Firstly, the technological evolution of the Taiwanese type-printing industry is used as a background for the analysis, and then the external factors and the internal shaping of the technological development are studied respectively and used to discuss the core value of the life of technology. After the discussion on the digitization of printing, the process of the core value of coordinating humans and technology are expressed as follows: 1. The development of word-made technology is swiftly changing due to external factors, so it has a strong awareness of social value; 2. High technology “monopoly” replacing human technology “monopoly”; 3. The transfer of technology breaking through the practice of masters orally passing down knowledge to apprentices due to how slow and closed nature; 4. After a gap is generated by high technology crossing the traditional technology, humans are still the core of technology value, and only the cultivation of human value can highlight the value of technology; 5. During the different stages of development, the old technology continuously seeks for transformation to show its tenacity of life.
