Exhibition' could be said to be the basic function of the museum today. Having the concept of 'exhibition' is one of the key factors that makes a museum worthy of the name. Among a museum's functions, both 'collection' and 'exhibition' are based on 'objects.' However, while exhibition can be a form of collecting, collecting cannot achieve the same objectives as exhibition. Exhibitions differ in appearance depending on their aims and objectives. What attracts people to museum exhibits is the way that, on the basis of the principles of collection or the concepts that the museum is attempting to present to public, the exhibition is transformed into a channel of communication with the public, which includes educational effects. Museum exhibition is knowledge, but also an art. When the exhibits finally appears before the eyes of visitors to the museum, this is actually only the final stage in a long, thorough process of design and consideration. This article is concerned mainly with the character of exhibition and exhibition approaches, and which are the crucial concepts in planning exhibitions. |
