Purpose: This study examined the link between abusive supervision and nurse's organizational disidentification, work and family conflict. Methods: The purposive sampling method was adopted to select a hospital in Central Taiwan. In each of these, 85% of the nurses were randomly selected to receive a questionnaire. A total of 337 questionnaires were collected and the valid questionnaires were 318 with a valid rate of 88.33°/o. These were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and hierarchical regression. Results: 1. Abusive supervision and nurse's organizational disidentification was positively related. 2. Organizational disidentification and nurse's work and family conflict were positively related. 3. Abusive supervision and nurse's work and family conflict had positively relationship that was mediated by organizational disidentification. Conclusion: In addition to preventing abusive supervision and organizational disidentification, hospital should provide resources and nurture a family-friendly environment to endow nurses with more flexibility in handling the conflict between work and family domains. |
