The purpose of this study was to discuss the motivation and intention of entering higher education of the students from senior high school physical education classes in our country nowadays and to analyze the difference in motivation and intention of higher education. This study used the students of senior high school physical education classes in Chang hua county as. 590 questionnaires were delivered to the students, and returned with 579 questionnaires, which is 98% of validity. The statistical analysis of collected data in this research derives from descriptive statistics, independent sample T-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe'smethod and Correlation coefficient. The results of this research: 1. )The primary motivation of higher education for the students from senior high school physical education class is professional knowledge and the second one is avoiding pressure; the primary intention of higher education is for Studying in sport related majors and the second one is Studying other majors.2.) The different genders, grade levels, and practicing time of different specialties do not show significant difference in studying motivation and intention. 3.) Different schools, different length of practiced years of sport specialties, and the best students from physical education classes have significant differences in the intention of entering higher education. 4.) Different length of practiced years of sport specialties, different sport specialties, and students who currently attending physical education class have significant differences in the intention of entering higher education. 5.) The motivation of studying of the students of physical education classes in senior high school has positive effects to the intention of entering higher education significantly. As a result, the main factor that affects the motivation of the students from physical education classes in senior high school to study is professional knowledge, which they can enhance themselves through learning as in more sport knowledge, special techniques and physical performance; whereas, the intention of entering higher education is affected more on Studying in sport related majors and, including personal interest, aptitude, and grades of specialized sports. |
