指導統一病名及統一診斷標準探索思維的理論基礎是科學發展觀堅持中西醫並重。對疾病及其診斷有新統一定義。構建了中西醫統一病名模式“中名．西名”和統一病名（如：消渴．糖尿病、乳蛾．扁桃體炎）。探索了中西醫疾病（統一病）的統一診斷標準。

The theory of directing the unified diagnoses and disease names was based on equally scientific developments in Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. New definitions on diseases and diagnoses was to establish the unified model on ''Chinese name．Western name'' , for example, hsiao-ke．diabetes mellitus, ju-o．tonsillitis .
