The Independence of Mexico

我們先回顧墨西哥的獨立建國過程，接著介紹本文的概念架構，然後檢視西屬美洲的族群結構、以及不平等的關係，隨後探究這些國家獨立的國際背景，再來解析西班牙政府對屬地的政策，最後以民族主義的內涵做結論。

After a brief review of the process of Mexico’s independence, we shall introduce the conceptual framework of this article. We then proceed to look into the ethnic structures of the Spanish America with a special focus on unequal relationships. Efforts are made to examine the international context of these colonies’ independence and the Spanish government’s colonial policy. Finally, we will conclude with the implications from the perspective of nationalism.
