This study aims to investigate the feminization of the daycare workers, taking the status of the Kaohsiung Public Daycare Centers and the Childcare Resource Centers as examples. This phenomenon has existed in the childcare workplace for a long time. The consciousness and feelings of workers living in gender segregation, the male staff in the field of gender segregation in accordance with their occupations category and the interactive experience and feelings with their peers, as well as the expectations and recommendations of gender issues from the workers and parents. The study found that female daycare workers felt "fine" and "quite easy", and did not feel dissatisfied with the phenomenon of the feminization or have the expectation of status quo change. Because of the different content of their positions, male staff had different interactive experiences and feelings. The male staff believed that women in charge of the degree of empathy and caring were better than men. So they were still looking for female executives. Most female daycare workers would still choose female daycare staff as their partner. |
