"Education is the engineering of hope". A principal is the pilot of a school, therefore, all the nations around the world enhances principals' abilities through the training curriculum in order to be internationally competitive. This study adapts document analysis. Through viewing and note-taking of the data, and the further encoding of the items from the "parent-teacher needs" in the pending-solution problem sheets from each school, the data is statistically analyzed. The researcher expects to find out if the current design of the training course of principals in Taiwan meets the "parent-teacher needs", and the further comparison between the 2016 "Kaohsiung Training Curriculums for Principals" and the expected ability of a principal also examines the appropriateness of the curriculum to find out whether it fits the practical needs of principals' leadership. The results indicate that parents and teachers hope that the principals should know how to lead and administrates a school, as well as the ability to care and broaden students' horizon. There are some differences between the current training curriculum and and parent-teacher needs; all teachers expect the principals to focus more on the administration of a school, but not all the same in terms of students' horizon broadening skills. The principals consider the curriculum for executive leadership and administration to be the most critical part for the practical needs of principals' leadership, and there is a difference between the current curriculum and the principals' thoughts. |
