At the tidal times of educational reforms, the leading role of being a teacher affects a school development and involves teacher professional development. Meanwhile, teacher leadership has been concerned by the academic community. Besides, it has a popular tendency in the field of school practice as well. We can learn that it has ushered a new era called teacher leadership. The study aims to discuss the definition of teacher leadership, related theories and dimensions, effectiveness, and affected factors. Through the study, we can find that there are quite a few blank spots of teacher leadership research, including a lack of qualitative research, no agreement about the definition and divergent thinking of teacher leadership. Also, the blind spots include the less attention about the relevance between the definition and dimensions. ”Gung Ho” and transformative intellectuals are the related foundation, which are less concerned. There is still something left to be improved and studied about teacher leadership, the wellness of school organizations, the citizen behavior of teacher organizations and the relevance of organizational commitment. |
