During research on the tombs of the Tang Dynasty, archaeologistsdiscovered bottles and boxes referred to as Tower-Shaped Wares. Due to thelack of data in the existing literature, the pot’s role in funeral customs of the erais unknown. Based on the excavation in Henan, this study aims to understandthe funeral and cultural significance in the Tang Dynasty through analysis of thestyle of the funerals, the tomb occupants, and the appearances and decorativepatterns of the Tower-Shaped wares. |
