The purpose of this study is to examine how the opinions about how Japanese language teachers should be differ between Japanese major and non-Japanese major undergraduates in Taiwan. Based on how Japanese language teachers should be that Japanese major request which is defined by earlier research, non-Japanese major from 6 universities at Taiwan as the subject, questionnaire was used at this study. On the analysis, contrasting Japanese major with non-Japanese major by referring to the different length of time on learning Japanese is focused on.Compare the data from 633 students who major in Japanese with the data from 464 students who are non-Japanese major, and we can know that no matter what students major in, teachers are requested to have professional knowledge, skill, qualification, and teaching experiences. Besides, students who major in Japanese request teachers to have concern for learners and the interaction. Students who are non-Japanese major request teachers to create an atmosphere of classroom, and be considerate to students. Moreover, the requests to teachers also differ because of the different length of time on learning Japanese. |
