The study aims to investigate the role of the study of language-behavior in linguistic theories and its nuclear meanings as well as its theoretical framework.The results show that:1. The concept of language-behavior refers to the process from the conveyed prototypes, to the mutual interactions among messages, to the construction of the event concepts and finally to the development of communicative competence.2. The study of human language-behavior is cross-domain research which integrates such factors as humans, actions, cognitions, cultures and societies etc.3. The study of language-behavior is not limited to the research on linguistic knowledge. It also includes the investigation of the interpersonal communicative behaviors, humans’ mental expressions, the variety of social life styles and cultural spirit etc. |
