The present paper aims to discuss Japanese “reduplicated” adjectives consisting of the adjective ending “-shi” attached to reduplicated stems, with regard to their phonetic shape, semantic content and syntactic function. The paper consists of five sections. The first section introduces the aim and contents of the paper, followed by three sections dealing, respectively, with the phonetic shape, semantic contest and syntactic function. Finally, the last section illustrates how the related adjectives, such as “” and”” can be taught in the actual classroom teaching Japanese. |
