The “Vigor of Style” is the aesthetic appreciation and literary criticism in the history of the Important Concept. It has influenced later writings and poetry style in the history of Chinese literature. “The impassioned spirit and cultural elegance amalgamated in Jian’an culture, poetry P’eng-lai literature and Chien-an Ku(bone)” (蓬萊文章建安骨),“Ever since Jian’an(AD196-AD226), the exquisite beauty is not worthy prizing”(自從建安來,綺麗不足珍)“Wind” refers to the ethos; and “bone” emphasis on the shape of the phalanx cell. These two are inseparable, combined into a strength of character. Wen Xin Diao Long (《文心雕龍》) described in more detail: “Wind” is the vitality of the article. It is an intrinsic infection of the human spirit. “Bone” is the expression refers to the article, which means that the article should show its energetic and powerful. Cao Father and son, is leader in the literary world. Cao Zhi's known as the greatest poet in Jian’an period. His literary achievement therefore has the backbone of a high representative of “Vigor of Style”.My aim is to discover the “Vigor of Style” in Cao Zhi's writing especially in his most famous poem Ode to the Goddes of the Luo River(〈洛神賦〉) and White Ma Wangbiao gifts(〈贈白馬王彪詩〉). |
