This paper introduces three classroom activities that teachers can use to encourage studentsto speak English. Each activity is centered on a popular American science fiction televisionprogram, but the exercises suggested here can work just as easily with many other sciencefiction films. These three classroom activities are designed for all skill levels of students,from beginners to advanced learners.
