Literary works of ficition have fallen from favor with many modem teachers of English as a Foreign Language. Today's educators, spurred on by scores of theorists armed with reams of research, generally frpwn upon any suggested use of literature in the language acquisition classroom. This writing will examine some of the claims against the use of literature as a language teaching tool, and offer arguments which cast a more favorable light on the use of creative fiction in the EFL classroon. |
