This research looked into previous literature regarding the conservation and reuse of historical sites, and realized that there was no significant study on how to encourage and promote civil organization into participation. This research adopted theory of planned behavior as fundamental basis and developed a questionnaire in search of influencing factors which may drive civil organizations into conservation of historical sites. 250 responses from 12 civil organizations in Taiwan were received, and the results showed a positive attitude. In particular, civil organizations experienced most positive support from family, community, friends, and relative organizations regarding work of conservation. Therefore the research concluded that civil organizations in Taiwan have strong intention to conserve and reuse historical sites. However, the resource and ability of such work is weaker than above factors. Real support from government, society, and (professional) community is not easily found. |
