博物館臨時特展場地規劃之研究

A Study on the Scheme of Temporary Exhibition Halls - Case Study of NSTM

一個博物館要能永續經營，就要了解自己博物館的產品在那裡，也就是它要提供給觀眾的是什麼？它是博物館的服務、人員、建築、設備、氣氛、對觀眾的照顧、使用與可使用度、合作表現、典藏、活動節目與其他可數或不可數等因素的混合體（徐純譯，民89）。唯有能深切體認到這混合體的重要性及複雜性的管理者，才有可能讓博物館免於遭受社會潮流的淘汰。雖然博物館屬非營利機構，但同樣要有強而有力的經營策略，除了經營策略外，展示是博物館設置的重要使命之一，展示不僅是博物館的招牌門面，同時也是博物館與觀眾溝通的最主要橋樑。而常設展示是博物館的展示主軸，但因常設展示往往推出一展就五年十年，一個博物館若以當地民眾為參觀主體的話，就長期而言，是無法滿足民眾參觀之需求。美國博物館館長尼可森（Thomas D. Nicholson）認為博物館必須提供並安排更多樣性的節目以吸引那些經常性觀眾及會員的再次造訪，並吸引更多的新觀眾群。基本的一個概念在於「我們必須讓我們的顧客了解到這裡有令人興奮的展示節目表持續的在進行著」（程延年譯，民77）。因此，臨時特展的推出，不僅讓博物館隨時注入新的活力，也讓民眾對參觀博物館有了新的動力與需求。

Museums in Taiwan, no matter private or national, artistic or scientific, big or small, are growing. Museums are another choice for leisure and nice places for field trips and lifelong learning. Besides permanent exhibitions, often-held special exhibitions are the source and motive force of museums that will bring new vitality, and attract visitors. Therefore, the scheme of temporary exhibitions is very important. To plan a special exhibition, venue and size are important elements that will bring influences apart from the theme of the exhibition. Common well-organized museums all have temporary exhibition halls, which may be planned when the museums are designed, or after the museums are opened to bold special exhibitions. Temporary exhibition halls will influence the quality of special exhibitions.
