The article aims to the Pre-Raphaelite paintings by William Holman Hunt (1827~1910). His paintings were known for their great attention to detail, vivid color and elaborate symbolism. For instance, Hunt’s works focus on morality, religious stories and medieval romantics. His religious paintings are so attractive due to its various symbolic accessories and overflowing symbolic realism. This is the main topic that will be conferred and analyzed in this article. Therefore, the following will be the The Awakening Conscience, The Light of the World , The Triumph of the Innocents as the focus of discussion, and also explore the art of the Pre-Raphaelite and William Holman Hunt’s attitude towards art.William Holman found an innovative viewpoint towards art which deeply influenced British art; such as he opposed to the academic style of art required by the oppressive Royal Art Academy of England. Through this article, it can deeply demonstrate and analyze his painting works clearly. |
