This paper is written using the description of frontier in Nah Lan Shin Der’s lyric as focus of discussion. Using the previous research as base and transfer of the viewing angle in the description of frontier, these are identified as writing of a space. As such research approach, the main focus is on the special nature of frontier space itself. Because the Chinese frontier in the geographical concept of space is not just a simple natural space, but it is also a cultural space. In such distinct spatial order of Han dynasty levels, the frontier of space is farthest away from the center, and it is the closest savage worlds to the barbarian countries, therefore the frontier writings are consist of culture concept which is facing the capital and turning back to barbarians. During the time of Han conquest by Qing dynasty, barbarians from the north of the border into China and became the lord of China. Nah Lan Shin Der was born from the Manchurian honorable nobility and he used traditional Chinese literature in the frontier writing. How was he define or rewrite the meaning of the frontier space? And what are the influences to his frontier writings? These are the topics to be responded in this paper. |
