This paper “The Proper Type of Liu Jishan's(劉蕺山)Thought As Seen from His Classics Interpretation” researches Liu Jishan's Classics interpretations on Confucian Analects, Mencius , Doctrine of the Mean, Book of Changes and Great Learning. Throughout Liu Jishan's Classics interpretation, we can thus position Liu Jishan's philosophical thought among all philosophers. Modern Chinese philosopher Mou Zhongshan (牟宗三) categorized Liu Jishan's philosophy as “Revealing Human Nature with Heart” (以心著性) ; he also discriminate the theories of Hu Hong(胡宏)and Liu Jishan from Neo-Confucianism philosophy. Many speculate Mou Zhongshan’s viewpoints. According to Liu Jishan's student Huang Zhongxi ’ s (黃宗羲)opinion, Liu’s core thought would be the “ Philosophy of Mind”(心學).Throughout Liu Jishan's Classics Interpretation, this paper will integrate all of Liu’s expositions of Confucian Classics into his theory of “Keeping Vigilance In Solitude”(慎獨). Therefore we manifest the importance of Human Nature and Heaven in Liu Jishan’s philosophy and that it is coherent with “Revealing Human Nature with Heart” (以心著性). |
