As the emergence of New Public Management(NPM) in the last two decades, enterprise mode of government administration has been arisen; and public museums have to increase the performance with insufficient resources. Therefore, informal employees, especially voluntary workers, are critical for the museum. Emotional Labor influences frontline staff's performance. Since current research for museum voluntary workers' emotional labor is lacking, we tends to explore the relationship between volunteers' perceived organizational support, emotional labor, and service-oriented organizational behavior. The research participants of this study are the voluntary workers of National Science & Technology Museum. A questionnaire is designed to investigate the effects of perceived organizational support on service-oriented organizational behavior; and hierarchical regression analysis is conducted to test the mediating effect of emotional labor. The conclusions and implications are drawn for museum informal human resource management. |
