博物館蒐藏的公共服務及空間規劃

The Public Service and the Space Planning of Museum Collections

自博物館開放大眾參觀以來，公共服務便成為博物館的使命之一，隨著博物館經營理念的改變，如何服務大眾已經成為博物館營運的重心。為了落實使命，國外許多博物館紛紛設法提升藏品的利用價值，不僅擴大服務對象和範圍，也增加服務項目。為此，博物館的內部空間必須配合蒐藏服務策略之改變而有所調整或改造。學習室、公共研究室的設置，以及教學藏品儲藏庫等成為博物館蒐藏公共服務空間規劃的重要元素。國內大多數博物館雖然是在最近二十年內興建，但是其蒐藏空間的設置大多只考量藏品保存、維護及支援研究、展示及教育等業務之空間需求，幾乎沒有博物館針對蒐藏的公共服務預做空間規劃。不過在政府大力推動服務升級計劃之際，目前已經有博物館試圖提升蒐藏的服務功能。希望本文的探討對國內博物館在這方面的空間規劃思考有所幫助。

Public service has been one of the most important missions of a museum ever since it opened to the public. The role of better serving the public has become the most important factor in running a museum. In order to accomplish this critical mission, museums have been trying to increase the collections' use, not only to serve more people, but also to develop more service items. Therefore, a museum's space has to be modified or changed to cope with this new strategy of collection service. To set up a public learning center such as study rooms, public laboratories and the visible storage, etc. has become one of the most important issue in the space planning of modern museums. Although most museums in Taiwan were built within the last two decades, their space planning for the collections was concerned mainly of their preservation and maintenance or the backup of research, exhibition and education. In other words, the space for the collection's public services has not put into consideration in their planning stage. Fortunately, there are certain amounts of annual government budget for the museums to promote their quality of public services. It is hoped that this discussion could help the museums in Taiwan to realize that the space planning is the key for the better public service of museum collections.
