The society today is moving forward to informational age and information technology changes very fast. Bibliographical researchers should confront squarely this reformation and think about applying it into the professional field. The researcher argues that energy brings industries, tool reforms civilization, and thought convulses the learning. First, the coal mine prompted the Industrial Revolution in Europe and petroleum inspired the U.S. to become the industry leader. Second, the civilization was informed through tying knots, carving, writing, as well as printing. Digital industry is blooming in this information era, and its powerful influence can be expected.
People need a new thought to consider the research direction after the literature has been digitalized and how to use the new tools. A new thought must bring impact on the academy field. To look back the history, in the Ching Dynasty, the classical literature was studied and criticized with different thoughts from those in the Song and Han Dynasty. Regardless of their achievements, the impact they brought to the academy field was undoubtedly. Huan Chen generalized “four methods of collation” which were able to complete with the aid of information technology. It is hoped to provide information to the practitioners in terms of integrating information technology into textual criticism. |
