Using the new documents obtained from the oracles excavated in the east side of the Hua-yuan site, this article attempts to combine it with the scripts found in Wu Ting oracles bones to delineate the life story of Fu Hao. What we find in the Huan-yuan site is not related to royal endeavor, and Fu Hao therein is in her youth, whereas the Fu Hao found in Complete Collection of Oracle Scripts is in her middle age living in royal house. Combined those two together we might be able to delineate a complete picture of a historical woman three thousand years ago. The “double-evidence methodology” of Wang Guowei, in this case, is applied not only to documents and underground excavations, it can also be applied to include the interrelations between dug-ups. This study of the two Fu Haos thus expands the application of what Wang Guowei has already established. |
