In celebration of the newly-completed main branch of the Kaohsiung Public Library, the Bureau of Cultural Affairs Kaohsiung City Government and the NCL cohosted “Flipped Libraries: International Forum on New Paradigms in Space and Services of Public Libraries” on November 13-15, 2014. Nine librarians from the Netherlands, the U.S., Southern Korea, Australia, Finland, Thailand and Taiwan were invited to attend for their renown on creative space designs and service models. In addition, scholars and experts also were in attendance in the southern Taiwan venue. The main issue addressed was the important role of libraries in the new century.
