A Life in Print: A Special Exhibition of the NCL Special Collection
The print collection at the National Central Library (NCL) is distinctive in Taiwan for both its size and deeply local hue. The special exhibition 'A Life in Print' presents a selection of these fascinating works, including woodblock prints with New Year's motifs, postcards from the Japanese occupation period, 'Liberty Lottery' tickets, drawings of old Keelung harbor by the Qing artist Yao Hung, and traditional opera prints compiled by Chi Ju-shan, founder of the Beijing Opera Association. The exhibition was held from October 31, 2005 and will last for half year at the National Central Library's Rare Books Room. |
