TIBE 2002

Over 1,600 publishers from 47 countries converged at the Taipei World Trade Center from February 19 to 24 for the 10th Taipei International Book Exhibition this year. Adopting the theme “Style Orient, Global Perception,” the event highlighted Japanese publications at a special display hall and featured five topical exhibition areas for international exhibitors, children’s books, future publications, comic books and general books. Event organizers also arranged a host of presentations and seminars at the exhibition venue and major bookstore outlets. The NCL made a high-profile appearance at TIBE this year, reserving six booths for its display, themed “Culture, Publishing & Libraries.” The exhibit presented the library’s recent achievements in promoting cooperation and exchange with cultural groups, publishers and other libraries.
