NCL Launches Online Newspaper and Periodical Services

Readers can now enjoy convenient online access to ROC newspapers and other periodical information thanks to the debut of the “ROC Newspaper Web” and “NCL E-Journal.” The two digital resources, compiled by the NCL Periodicals Center since 2000 as part of a national science and technology plan, aim to preserve periodical material published in the ROC and make it more widely accessible to the public. 1) ROC Newspaper Web (http://192.192.58.101/cgi/ncl9/m_ncl9_news) The NCL no longer provides access to printed versions of newspapers published before 1981. While these publications have previously been available in microfiche form, the relative inconvenience of this format prompted the library to make them available online.
