The NCL hosted the Fourth National Book Club Fair from October 28 to 29 this year, drawing more than 1,000 bibliophiles from across Taiwan. The two-day event was sponsored by the Executive Yuan Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA) and the National Taichung Library.
In addition to displays of new and recommended books, the fair featured publications on the September 21 earthquake last year to promote social development through reading and comfort victims of the disaster.
The CCA arranged a series of activities and presentations to encourage parent and child reading as part of the Year of Children's Education activities. The presentations discussed literature on earthquakes and reading for therapeutic benefit and personal development. |
