The 115 Tunhuang classics preserved at the NCL provide an important reference for the study of the economy, society, politics, and culture of China in ancient times. In order to develop the collection and promote academic exchange with mainland China, the library invited Liu Yongceng (劉永增), deputy director of the Gansu Provincial Institute of Tunhuang Studies, and Li Hongen (李鴻恩), the institute's assistant director, to speak at a seminar at the NCL on May 26.
The meeting explored three major issues, including: 1) Tunhuang Studies and IT Applications; 2) Cooperative Compilation of Subject Tables for Tunhuang Studies; and 3) Other Related Programs. |
