英文摘要 |
Yu Jiyuan 余紀元 is a philosophy professor at the State University of New York (Buffalo) with several publications to his name, mostly on ancient Greek or Chinese thought. The present book, part of the Routledge Studies in Ethics and Moral Theory, compares two of the most prominent moral philosophers across space and time, Confucius and Aristotle. Yu’s aim in producing this work is to defend the worthiness of doing comparative philosophy (p. 1) as well as to make an on par comparison of both thinkers (p. 3). The author’s impressive educational background in Asia, Europe, and America allows him to write the present volume with great detail and rich textual support from beginning to end. It also includes two separate glossaries of relevant Chinese and Greek terminology. |
