To investigate the sanitation and safety of aluminum food containers, a total of 51 samples were examined. All tests followed the hygienic standards and the methods of food utensils, containers and packaging. The results showed that the contents of arsenic, lead and cadmium were below the hygienic limitation; the residues on evaporation were between 5-16 ppm for 4% acetic acid leaching test, 4-14 ppm for 20% ethanol leaching test and 16 ppm for water leaching test; the amounts of epichlorohydrin monomer, vinyl chloride monomer, phenol and formaldehyde were not detected. Fifty-one samples were all found to comply with the hygienic standards of food utensils, containers and packages. |
