In order to understand heavy metal pollution of cultured fish in Taiwan, 80 Samples of Market fishes (26 grass fish. 27 SILVER CARP and BLG head, 27 TILAPIA) were collected from October 1986 to march 1987 o Contents of lead, Copper and Cadmium in fish were analyzed by ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission spectrophotometry). Contents of mercury and Arsenic were analyzed by AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). Analytical results were as follows, in grass fish. Copper 0.36~ 1.59 ppm, Pb (N. D~0.70 ppm), Cd (1.51~49.38 ppb), As (N. D~0.057 ppm), Hg (N. D~0.12 ppm) in TILAPLA, Cu (0.28~2.80 ppm) Pb (0.09~074 ppm), Cd (22.86~85.26 ppb)、As (N. D~0.117 ppm), Hg (N. D~0.12 ppm) in SILVER CARP and BLG head, Cu (0.29~1.03 ppm), Pb (N. D~0.67 ppm), Cd (24.79~59 .39 ppb), As (N. D~0.056 ppm,) Hg (0.01~0.163 ppm), Acording to the analysis of variance, the contents of lead mercury, Arsenic and Cadmium in grass fish, TILAPIA SILVER CARP and BLG head were significantly different (P < 0.05), There was no Significant difference (P > 0.05) in copper. The content of mercury was below the allowed limit of mercury conternt in fish and shell fish, 0.5 ppm. The determined results of the contents of lead, Codmium, Copper. Arsenic were followed the allowed limits in Janpanese and Canada etc. So heavy metal pollution of AQUACULTURE fish in Taiwan is not serious. |
