From Oct. 1986 to Feb 1987, 210 samples (including 118 twin style chopstickes and were examinated for total viable count, coliform bacteria and Staphylococcus spp. The results showed that all samples were coliform-negative; 2 samples of small round style chopstickes were staphylococci-positive. The percentage of speciemens whose total viable count were between zero and thirthy per pair were 58.5% and 52.2% for twin style chopstickes and small round style chopstickes, respectively. The highest count of both were 103~104CFU/pair. The positive percentage of coliform bacteria in anether 52 pairs of reusable was 32.7%, the total viable count was up to 108~109CFU/pair. |
