From Nov. 1986 to May 1987. 270 cultured fishes (including 98 eels, 43 cyprinids, 42 perciformes and Rainbow Trout, 45 milk fishes, 42 sarotherdons) were purchased from the fresh markets and supermarkets in Taiwan area and analyzed for oxytetracycline (OTC), chlorotetracycline (CTC), chloramphenicol (CP). The results showed that OTC and CP were undetected in all samples and CTC was detected in 4 sample which included: 2 eels, 1 perciform, 1 milk fish. The cup-and-plate method and TLC-bioautography with Bacillus subtilis var. mycoides ATCC 11778 as the test organism were employed for the TCs assay and the average recoveries were 90.2% (OTC) and 84.5% (CTC). As little as 0.05 pm (OTC) or 0.01 ppm (CTC) was detectable. The cup-and-plate method with E. coli NIHJ as the test organism and HPLC were employed for the CP assay and the average recovery was 89.3%. As little as 1.25 ppm was detectable by bioassay. The detecting limit by HPLC was 1 ng. |
