An efficient method using gas chromatography (GC) with ECD (Electron Capture Detector) and a DB-608 capillary column to determine propiconazole in crop samples has been developed. Residues of propiconazole was extracted from crop samples with acetone, partitioned into ethylacetate, cleaned up using disposable florisil cartridge, and determined by GC-ECD subsequent to purification. Recoveries were determined by spiking untreated crop samples with propiconazole at 0.5 ~ 1.5 ppm, and recoveries ranged from 83.4 ~ 88.2%. The corresponding detection limit of the samples was 0.02 ppm. |
