A method utilizing high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) has been developed to determine ethirimol in crop samples. Ethirimol was extracted from crop samples with acetone, interference materials removed by solvent partition using diethyl ether and hexane, and the ethirimol extracted from the solution with chloroform. The test solution was determined at UV 298 nm. Recovery studies were performed at 1.0 ~ 3.0 ppm fortification levels, and recoveries ranged between 80.3 ~ 85.0%. The detection limits of ethirimol tested in watermelon and mango were 0.01 ppm. |
