This study is designed to investigate the current participating situation of the college taekwondo teams in our country, and to analyze the discrepancy on how different backgrounds influence the contestants' participating motivation. The object of this study is the Amateur Taekwondo Team of the National Universiade Sport Game. We collect data by giving out questionnaires, 234 valid out of 239. The tool of this study is the "Research Questionnaire on the Participating Motivation of College Taekwondo Contestants", using independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance and LSD post hoc analysis as the statistical analysis. The results are as follows: First, the highest motivation of the contestants from the college taekwondo teams is "sport enjoyment", followed by "sport development". Second, there is significant difference on "sport enjoyment" and "sport development" for different genders, on "achievement need" for different grades, on "sport enjoyment" and "sport development" for different weekly training time, and on "sport enjoyment", "sport development" and "achievement need" for different training seniority. Conclusion: Taekwondo is a sport for people of all kinds, but when added with athletic element, people's participating motivation might be influenced. We hope to find the factors through this study, in order to make the contestants' passion for taekwondo last and to reach the purpose of exercising for life. |
