To improve sanitation management of food service businesses and make sure food safety of travelers the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration announced that international tourist hotels shall meet the regulations on food safety control system by 1 Jul 2015, which can reduce and prevent the hazard of food with hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) principle. Up to the end of 2015, fifty-seven international tourist hotels were HACCP compliant and passed inspection, employment rate of professionals was 67%. According to the results of inspection, deficiencies of international tourist hotels were mainly on maintenance of building and facilities, management of food suppliers, equipment/utensils and good hygiene practice for foods. Additionally, the management of HACCP record sheets, monitoring plan and hazard analysis operation were also major items of deficiency. |
