Phenomenological Interpretation of the ＂Six Ways＂ of Chinese Script Formation

本文關切當代華語哲學的基本處境和未來發展，將此關懷落實在對中文字特質的現象學分析、對語言學的批判、對歐洲哲學的反思以及對某種「身體思維」的探討。目標在於要釐清一般「圖像」與文字視像之間的關係，亦初步凸顯文字有視像性與否這一事對哲學思維可能有何種意義。本文首先自歸屬歐洲語文範例以外之中文字的特質，來破除當代語言學和語言哲學所持的某些錯見，然後從現象學的視角探索：中文字的素質對某種以身體現象與世界性問題為主要關懷的當代省思有哪些優點？最終本文所主張並辯解的是：藉由中文字的應用，使用華語的哲學思考如今適合圍繞身體自我展開另類的未來思維，即「身體思維」。

This paper deals with the situation of contemporary Chinese speaking philosophy, as well as its future development, by means of a phenomenological inquiry into the peculiar iconicity of the Chinese scrip t. This includes a critique of linguistic theories with respect to this script, as well as some reflections on ＂body thinking.＂ This is an attempt at demonstrating the signification using an iconic script may have for philosophical thinking, by means of a phenomenological elucidation of the iconic values of Chinese characters. Such is the final thesis put forward: Chinese speaking philosophy may rely on the precious resources of her language and script, so as to develop a thinking through the body.
