The Extract of Documents Recorded in the Zizhi Tongjian

《資治通鑑》一書，上自周王朝末年，下到五代，前後涵蓋1362年之久。治亂之間，治少而亂多。從政治軍事以觀，常掩卷不忍卒讀。但若轉由其中圖書文獻（偏重典章制度）著眼，暫不論其是非、功過，對此前人之心力凝聚，藉其遺文、往跡，足供後之覽者、參思、反省、與借鑑。本篇於原著引文，採「柏楊版」語譯本，取其明白易曉。

The Zizhi Tongjian chronologically narrates the history of China from the Warring States period in 403BCE to the beginning of the Song Dynasty in 959CE. It was a pioneering reference book especially in decrees and regulations of Chinese which could provide the future generations to read, speculate, and introspect.
