The Qing Dynasty palace boasted a rich collection of books. Tianlulinlang is the major location of classical edition of books. The first batch of books was burnt in the fire with none left. The first edition books were destroyed in fires. During Jia Qing period, the Tianlulinlang collection was rebuilt. The two batches have their own individual characteristics, although most of scholars focus on the second, ignoring the exploration and research on the first batch. Today, even with occasional mistake of collection edition, scholars have great overall evaluation of the books at Tianlulinlang. They treat the books there as a classical edition but fail to review the contents of books one by one and give objective analysis. The researcher attempts to have the first batch of Tianlulinlang books as the study subject. With book index and first batch collection at Tianlulinlang, one can explore the characteristics and phenomena of the books and provide readers a better understanding of the books at Tianlulinlang. |
