Treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Diabetes

糖尿病分為第一型與第二型糖尿病，在傳統中醫屬消渴的範疇。糖尿病中醫的主要病機為脾與腎的虛損，因此健脾與補腎是主要治則。中醫治療糖尿病依其臨床症狀區分為上中下三消，以辨證論治的方式，隨證加減治療，並可與西醫結合，達到標本兼治，取得良好的治療效果。

The main types of diabetes include Type I diabetes and Type II diabetes. It belongs to the scope of dispersion-thirst in traditional Chinese medicine. Pathogenesis of diabetes in traditional Chinese medicine is spleen-kidney deficiency. Based on this, spleen-invigorating and kidney-nourishing are treatment principles. In the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, clinical symptom of diabetes can be classified into three phases: upper-jiao, middle-jiao and lower-jiao. The addition and subtraction treatment based on overall analysis of symptoms and sings can be combined with west medicine in order to treat both the principal and secondary aspects and get good treatment outcome.
