The aims of this study were to investigate the preventive behavioral intentions of fine particulate matters and the related factors for undergraduate students of two universities in Taipei area. Data were collected by questionnaires with a total sample size of 800 from two universities in Taipei area. The environmental sensitivity of the students was positive. The scores of preventive knowledge of fine particulate matters were above average. The preventive attitude of fine particulate matters of the students was positive, and the preventive behavioral intention of fine particulate matters of the students was good. Gender, grade, college and the experience of the environmental education significantly influenced the preventive behavioral intentions of fine particulate matters. Environmental sensitivity, preventive attitude, gender, and preventive knowledge could significantly predict the 37.9% variance of preventive behavioral intentions of fine particulate matters. Among these factors, the preventive attitude was the best predictor for preventive behavioral intentions of fine particulate matters. As the environmental sensitivity, preventive knowledge, attitude of the students affected preventive behavioral intentions of fine particulate matters of the students, we suggest that the workshop of the environmental education should be continuous in university to maintain the long-term positive attitude for preventive behavioral intentions of fine particulate matters. |
